Wednesday January 25, 2006 10:00 AM Dirksen Federal Building (Near Dearborn, Jackson and Adams)
Room 1248 / Judge Amy St Eve.

Starting March 6, there will be about two weeks of hearings about:

Whether the Government of the United States of America can admit the confession of a Palestinian- American allegedly made to Israeli Occupation Forces under interrogation and systematic torture in the early 1990s.

The United States and Israel would like to keep it a closed hearing. We need support to make sure this doesn’t happen. Come to court on Wednesday.

Does anyone know if federal cases are assigned randomly, like state criminal cases?

If not, it would seem weird that St. Eve, a relatively inexperienced judge, would be assigned this high-profile case. What do you guys think of St. Eve?

    Matt-

Thanks for keeping the NLG web page updated with info on Salah. Who is planning on going to the hearings and vigil next Monday? What about the public vigil later in the week?
