Alton Logan spent 26 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. Attorneys Dale Coventry and Jamie Kunz always knew Alton Logan was innocent; in 1982 a different client confessed to the murder Logan was convicted of. Yet Coventry and Kunz maintained attorney-client confidentiality for 26 years before they revealed the truth. After the death of their client, Coventry and Kunz came forward to defend the innocence of Alton Logan. On September 4th, 2008, the Illinois Attorney General’s office dropped all charges against Alton Logan. He is now a free man.
This program is sponsored by the Loyola Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG).
